Fashion Friday with Nerd Out: Five outfits for Avengers: Infinity War
By Michelle Jensen
Are you ready for what a decade of Marvel filmmaking has lead up to? I am! It all culminates in Avengers: Infinity War! I want to help you get ready for the best Marvel has to offer and with tons of Avengers: Infinity War events happening around the world, let's find you the perfect outfit for the occasion. You'll be #NerdingOut like a superhero, or supervillain, in these five fantastic ensembles.
First up Captain America, leader of the Avengers! I love this retro button up dress from Her Universe, which pairs perfectly with the Loungefly floral wallet. To keep that vintage, Dapper Day type feel going I wanted to find some heels that shouted 1940s and I think Peggy Carter would approve of these lovely red heels. When it comes to jewelry, I love sets and how they make deciding what to wear so much easier. These matching earrings, rings, and necklace are perfect, even if you only use one or two of the pieces. I'd use the ring and earrings. Put your hair up Agent Carter style while wearing the shield studs and you're good to go! Pair it with a simple blue bracelet like this one from Macy's. For makeup, I looked to NudeStix. I found out about them a few years back at GenBeauty, a marvelous cosmetic event that I highly recommend as it's basically comic con for beauty nerds. I picked the color Stiletto for this look. Finish the outfit with some Julep nail polish in Briana and don't forget your shades!
Another lovely Her Universe find is the Nakia cold shoulder top inspired by Black Panther. Add the Loungefly bag to match and check out RockLove's jewelry collection for Black Panther, which is to die for! Not only do they have the pieces I've featured here, but they have an assortment of inspired jewelry. Complete the set with a thin wrap bracelet from BoxLunch. I also wanted to get some simple shoes to go with the outfit as I didn't want to work against the patterned top. These platform Mary Jane shoes go perfectly and can be used with a variety of outfits. I'm kind of obsessed with Privé Revaux's new collection from Madelaine Petsch of Riverdale fame as well. I selected The Clique for this look. As for nails, you can either rock the infinity stones or keep it simple with Brielle from Julep. Then I once again went with Nudestix, but in Kiss this time. Finally, pair with your favorite pants. I'd pick some nice jet black ones.
Everyone's favorite Marvel villain deserves a shout out! This Loki velvet dress is perfectly mischievous and pretty. A scepter necklace from Hot Topic is a must have for fans of the god of mischief. Loungefly is just killing it with the Marvel handbags and of course has an option that can work here. Nine West heels from Macy's give me life, but if heels aren't your speed, try to find another metallic shoe to keep that gold glow going. I love that these Kate Spade stud earrings have so much color in them, making them easy to pair with tons of things! Keep it gold with matching sunglasses and nail polish in Spencer.
Guardians of the Galaxy
Style it low key but classy in our Guardians of the Galaxy outfit. This off the shoulder dress is the perfect base to adorn with nerdyness! RockLove hit it out of the park again with their Guardians collection of jewelry and yes, the earrings dance! Ah Groot, how we all love you! Pair with this Hot Topic bracelet and Rocket Raccoon mini backpack. I actually own a pair very similar to these booties and I love them so much I have them in two colors! Yes, I'm back again with more Privé Revaux sunglasses in The Rogue this time for this look. Complete it with a manicure and take Sharon for a spin.
Now my personal favorite Avenger, Black Widow! This pleated fit and flare dress is excellent for a night out on the town. The Loungefly dome bag is magnificent in its simplicity and I love that it just has the logo and nothing too crazy. Sometimes you find the best things on Etsy, like this Black Widow necklace. The way it hangs down, I love it! It’s almost like it's real. Get some sparkle with these rhinestone embellished heels and flower drop earrings. For the last time, in this post, Privé Revaux sunglasses for their bold angles in The Mister. Don't forget to complete the look with a perfect manicure using Sheila from Julep.
Now you're all set for a night out avenging, or trying to take over the world. I don't judge. Just make sure to look fabulous while doing it! Happy #NerdingOut friends!
